It may be that you have noticed or may be not during the use of Ubuntu, at the login screen of Ubuntu anyone are free to select the “Guest Session” and login to your computer without any password process. Unfortunately it is good that the guest won’t be able to access your any files and folders.
Whatever they will be able see is the default appearing on Ubuntu desktop but instead of these thing neither they will be not able to store any file permanently nor will the all saved files be deleted on reboot. The guest session is great option in this action if your laptop or pc is using someone else for the purpose of a quick email check or web browsing. And if you wish to disable “Guest Session” option from your login screen because you are the only user of your computer. Then no need to think more there is several options for this.

Disabling process step by step:
(1). At first Login to your computer with your personal account. And Open a terminal and type the below given line;
sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

(2). Now you have to Move the cursor at the end of a new line and enter there following given line;
allow-guest=false
|
(3).After enter the line, you have to Press “Ctrl +o” to save the changes and “Ctrl + x” to exit.
(4). Restart Lightdm.
sudo restart lightdm
|
Alternatively, now you may restart the computer. And when you will go for the next login, then you will see that the “Guest Session” modes will no longer show up in the option of login.
Some More Configurations
As you have done above mentioned steps successfully and now If you wish to disable the “remote login” option similarly, then you have to add the Following given line to the lightdm.conf file.
greeter-show-remote-login=false
|
And after that you have to restart Lightdm similarly as you have done during the above disabling process.
sudo restart lightdm
|
Restoration
In the case you need to restore the login screen. Then for the restoration of the login screen in the default state, you have to just simply undo the changes you have made. that means, remove the line “allow-guest=false” or “greeter-show-remote-login=false” from the lightdm.conf file. And you will see that your login screen has been restored successfully.
