Easiest way to Install Android L on Nexus 4

All the smartphone users of Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 are happy with Android L Developer Preview, but what about the users of Nexus 4?

Don't worry here's something special for all Nexus 4 users.

As we all know, just few days back Android L Developer Preview has been released for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013. I have already shared an article related to this, if you have missed to read then you can read the tutorial from here.

Almost all the nexus 4 users has accepted that only Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 users can enjoy the interesting features of Android L provided by the Android Developers. But pleasuring news for all the nexus 4 user is, now you can also enjoy Android L on your devices. All creadit goes to XDA Developers Forum members sykopompos and defconoi who came through with a port of the L-Preview for the Nexus 4.

How to Install Android L on Nexus 4 smartphone

Step (1): Firstly, unlock bootloader of Your Nexus 4 Device and install the custom recovery.

Step (2): After that download the Android L ported version for Nexus 4 and save the downloaded zip file on your PC.

Step (3): Now connect your Nexus 4 device to the PC through USB cable and move the downloaded zip file from Pc to your SD Card.

Step (4): Next switch off your Nexus 4 smartphone and reboot it into recovery mode (either CWM recovery or TWRP recovery).

Step (5): From the recovery main menu select the option of 'wipe data/factory reset' and then 'mounts and storage' --> 'format system'.

Step (6): Now select the option of 'advanced' --> 'wipe dalvik cache'.

Step (7): After that tap on 'install zip' --> 'install zip from sdcard' --> select the zip file that you moved from your PC to your SD card and then confirm the flashing procedure.

Step (8): When the flashing procedure is completed, select the 'wipe cache'.

Step (9): Now go to “advanced” option and select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step (10): Finally go back to the recovery main menu and select “reboot into system”.

You are done! Now your Nexus 4 smartphone will reboot. The very first boot may take time up to 10 minutes, so be patient. Start enjoying Android L on your Nexus 4 device!!
